Mick Foley, who recently began his AEW run, plans to have a conversation with Darby Allin about the former AEW World Champion’s highly risky style.

During a recent appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, Foley was asked about possibly warning Allin that he does not need to give so much in every match.

“Yes, I will have that conversation. I didn’t think the time to have the conversation was hours before his biggest match. I’ve been told that his people have had that conversation with him and he says everybody does their best stuff in the pay-per-views. I owe it to my fans to do it on every televised event. So I’ll try to talk with Darby. I didn’t know until about six weeks ago that I was an inspiration in his career because I’d known him since he was probably 17 years old going back 10 years. […] But I will have that talk with him and try to find out it’s got to be another gear where you can allude to the things, give people 80% of what you usually do, knowing that the vast majority of his fans will be thankful for what he gives them and they will understand that they might have to wait until a special event to get the 100% Darby.”

Foley made his AEW debut on the AEW Double or Nothing Buy In alongside Renee Paquette on May 24 at Louis Armstrong Stadium in New York.

At the same event, Darby lost the AEW World Championship to MJF in a Title vs. Hair Match.
