WWE‘s Crown Jewel is still scheduled for November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, despite an attack that struck near the Saudi capital’s main airport on Saturday.
Yemen’s Houthis claimed they launched missiles and drones at targets in Riyadh, according to Reuters and AFP. Hours after Saudi Civil Defense issued alerts, a large column of smoke was visible at King Khalid International Airport. Firefighters extinguished a fire in a fuel tank bearing the Saudi Aramco logo.
The incident also disrupted flights. Flightradar24 placed the airport at its highest disruption level before traffic began returning to normal. It was the first air alert in Riyadh since clashes between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis escalated again in July.
The attack comes less than two months before Crown Jewel. WWE has not announced any changes and still lists the premium live event at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, with a 2 p.m. ET start time.
The U.S. State Department has Saudi Arabia at Level 3, “Reconsider Travel.” The advisory, updated on September 15, 2026, cites risks from drone and missile attacks, armed conflict, and terrorism. It lists entertainment venues, large gatherings, and transportation hubs among potential targets.
WWE’s partnership with Saudi Arabia dates to 2018. Crown Jewel is not the company’s only major event ahead in the country — Riyadh is also set to host WrestleMania 43 in 2027, the first time the event will be held outside North America.
Whether the military escalation will affect WWE’s plans for November remains to be seen. For now, Crown Jewel stays on the company’s official schedule.
