WWE and Netflix already have a date set for the return of WWE: Unreal. The third season of the documentary series will premiere on July 21, with five 50-minute episodes, keeping the same format as the previous batches.

The main focus of the new season will be John Cena, who ended his in-ring career in December 2025. Netflix’s official synopsis reads:

“John Cena says goodbye, a fan favorite returns, and the next generation of Superstars rise to the occasion.”

Netflix also said the new episodes will show WWE’s writers’ room dealing with injuries, last-minute changes, and major decisions on the road to WrestleMania 42.

The confirmed names include John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, CM Punk, AJ Lee, Trick Williams, Lash Legend, Stephanie Vaquer, Oba Femi, Bron Breakker, Chelsea Green, Matt Cardona, Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch.

It is important to note that the second season ended by covering everything surrounding SummerSlam 2025. At the event, Cena lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in a Street Fight and was attacked shortly afterward by Brock Lesnar, who made his surprise return to WWE.

Cena’s final farewell came months later at Saturday Night’s Main Event, when he was defeated by Gunther in his last match. The Austrian won after locking in a sleeper hold, forcing Cena to tap out.

WWE: Unreal is one of the key pieces of WWE’s partnership with Netflix, which began in January 2025 with Monday Night RAW streaming live on the platform.
