Nick Aldis Makes Major Announcement About Cody Rhodes-Randy Orton Feud on WWE SmackDown

The Cody Rhodes-Randy Orton feud took a new turn on Friday’s SmackDown from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada.

The segment kicked off with Cody calling Orton out to the ring. Before things could escalate into another brawl, General Manager Nick Aldis stepped in and made it clear he would not allow a repeat of the chaos the two caused last week.

Aldis warned that if either Cody or Orton puts their hands on the other before Sunday Night’s Main Event, neither man will ever receive another Undisputed WWE Championship opportunity.

Orton accepted the terms, saying he has no intention of jeopardizing his shot at a 15th world championship. Cody, meanwhile, doubled down, vowing to finish Randy when the two finally square off.

The rivalry reignited at SummerSlam on August 1, when Orton returned to WWE and hit Cody with an RKO during Cody’s Undisputed WWE Championship match against CM Punk. The interference allowed Punk to retain the title.

Last week on August 14, Orton attacked Cody before his match against Sami Zayn. The two brawled throughout the arena, prompting Aldis to officially book their match for Sunday Night’s Main Event.
