Penta, the current WWE Intercontinental Champion, opened up about his ambitions in the company and said he plans to become a world champion at some point in his career.
In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo before Clash in Italy, the Mexican star spoke about his journey and the support he has received from fans throughout his 20 years in pro wrestling.
“Yeah, of course. Because this is the point. When I came to WWE, I said Penta came to WWE to conquer everything and this is only the first step. So I want to say thank you to all my fans around the world because you guys are my gasoline every night, because Penta is from the people. Penta is from all the fans who support me, and now I have 20 years in this business. So I’m very thankful for you guys. Thank you so much, and I promise you one time. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but I promise Penta will become the champion in WWE. But not any champion, the world champion.”
The Mexican standout is in the strongest stretch of his WWE run since arriving in January 2025. Penta won the Intercontinental Championship on March 2 by defeating Dominik Mysterio on Monday Night RAW, then retained the title in a six-man Ladder Match at WrestleMania 42, outlasting names such as Rey Mysterio, Je’Von Evans, and Rusev.
Penta is also set to begin his King of the Ring run on Monday’s RAW in Turin, competing in a first-round Fatal 4-Way Match against Oba Femi, Solo Sikoa, and Carmelo Hayes.
Whether “Cero Miedo” makes good on that promise remains to be seen. For now, his road toward a world title runs through Riyadh, where the King of the Ring final will take place at Night of Champions on June 27.
