Jey Uso, who is once again involved in a major storyline with The Bloodline, could have an interesting path to SummerSlam this year.
During a recent edition of Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray commented on the possibility of Jey winning the King of the Ring tournament and challenging Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at the biggest event of the summer.
The idea carries more weight because of the format announced by WWE. The King of the Ring winner will earn a world title match at SummerSlam, while the tournament final will take place at Night of Champions on June 27.
Jey still has to get through a first-round Fatal 4-Way Match, where he will face LA Knight, Royce Keys, and Finn Bálor. On the other side of the bracket, names such as Oba Femi, Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Damian Priest, and Seth Rollins also stand as possible obstacles.

Still, Bully Ray’s pitch stands out because of the potential story behind it. Jey and Cody have already held tag team gold together in WWE, while “Main Event” Jey remains directly tied to Roman Reigns’ next moves and The Bloodline.
Cody, meanwhile, is coming off a controversial title defense against Gunther at Clash in Italy, where he retained the Undisputed WWE Championship after a pinfall that was questioned due to the challenger’s foot being on the ropes.
SummerSlam will take place on August 1 and 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. It remains to be seen whether WWE will actually move in that direction with Jey Uso in the coming weeks.
