The case involving Ludwig Kaiser, real name Marcel Barthel, now has its next step set in Florida court.

According to court records, a pre-trial conference is scheduled for the morning of July 16 in Orlando. That type of hearing is typically where the prosecution and defense determine whether the case will move toward trial or potentially be resolved beforehand through an agreement.

The documents also list a possible trial window from August 10 to August 28.

Kaiser has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor battery charge tied to an April incident at the Orlando apartment building where he lives. According to the allegation, he attacked a resident after being confronted over his behavior in an elevator. Police reported observing marks consistent with a physical altercation, as well as surveillance footage used to identify the wrestler.

Barthel’s defense had previously requested permission for him to travel while the case is pending. Judge Andrew Cameron approved the request, allowing him to travel both within the United States and internationally, as long as he appears for his upcoming court dates.

That is notable because Kaiser remains involved in one of the biggest matches of his career. As El Grande Americano, he is advertised to face Chad Gable, the Original El Grande Americano, in a Mask vs. Mask Match at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30 at Arena Monterrey.
