AAA has canceled the special serenade that was scheduled for El Grande Americano on Thursday, May 21, in Mexico City.
The event had been announced in partnership with Kings League Mexico, with free admission and a capacity limited to just 300 people at the Domo Kings League beginning at 7 p.m.
The appearance was part of the build to Noche de los Grandes, which is set for May 30 at Arena Monterrey. At the show, El Grande Americano will face the Original El Grande Americano in a Mask vs. Mask Match.
The decision comes amid a delicate situation for Ludwig Kaiser, who has been identified as the name behind the current version of El Grande Americano. Kaiser was arrested in Orange County, Florida, on a battery charge and was released after posting $1,000 bond.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the charge stems from an altercation with a man and is not a domestic situation. Documents filed by the defense also request permission for Kaiser to continue traveling for work while the case moves forward.
As of now, AAA has not publicly explained why the serenade was canceled. Noche de los Grandes remains advertised, with the mask match still positioned as the show’s main attraction.
The rivalry between the two Americanos gained momentum on the April 11 episode of AAA, when Kaiser challenged Chad Gable to the wager match following a major brawl in Mexico City.
