Roman Reigns will put the World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam, set for August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. It will mark the first singles match between the two former Shield members in four years.

Although Reigns appears to be the favorite to retain the title, Bully Ray believes Rollins could surprise the OTC and leave the event as the new world champion.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the WWE Hall of Famer said he wouldn’t be shocked to see Rollins win, especially if the result were used to set up a future rivalry with LA Knight. In Ray’s view, title changes make WWE’s weekly programming more unpredictable, while another loss for Reigns would reinforce the story of Rollins always finding a way to get the better of him.

Knight, in fact, became directly involved in this story on the July 6 episode of Monday Night RAW. The Megastar interrupted Rollins and accused both the Visionary and Reigns of stalling his rise every time he got close to the top of WWE.

There’s also a long history between Knight and Rollins. In July 2025, Knight defeated Rollins at Saturday Night’s Main Event, in the match where the Visionary faked an injury. Weeks later, Rollins revealed the ruse and cashed in to win the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam.

Knight is currently confirmed for a Six-Man Tag Team Match at the event, teaming with Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys against Jacob Fatu and The Usos. That means a possible title match against Rollins would have to happen down the line.
