Drew McIntyre is the latest to pay tribute to PAC, who died Sunday at 40.
McIntyre shared his tribute in a video posted to his X account late Wednesday, recalling that he had known Satterley for more than two decades. He focused mostly on how Satterley held on to his passion for pro wrestling and stayed on good terms with people throughout his entire career.
“Just like everybody out there, you know, I’ve tried to, to write some, some thoughts, some words, and a hundred and eight characters at least because I want to add to the positivity and the memories of Ben, and that’s what it is, it’s positivity even though the situation is just horrible and not fair. Everyone’s so positive about him’cause there’s not a, um, bad word you can say about him. Over two decades in this industry, and after all that time and, you know, things not always going your way, you can get pretty jaded, and he never did.”
McIntyre also said the way PAC is being remembered matters more than any in-ring accomplishment.
“He kept his passion, and he kept being a good person, and look at the way he’s being remembered. In the end, you can achieve everything you want to achieve in the ring and have all these highlight reels that people will watch back one day, and they might enjoy, but they’ll Google your name eventually, and if you’re a piece of crap, they’re gonna know you were a piece of crap. That’s not how I want to be remembered, and that’s how you should not want to be remembered. How you should want to be remembered are somebody like Ben. I remember him two decades ago, over two decades ago.”
PAC’s final match came just one day before his death, when he faced Andrade El Idolo for the AEW National Championship at All Out.
The tributes continued throughout the week. Raw and NXT both opened by honoring Satterley, and Wednesday’s Dynamite was dedicated entirely to his memory.
