RUSH says he is healthy and ready to return to AEW despite his lengthy absence from television. He last appeared at the July 1 Collision taping in San Diego, where he defeated Jordan Cruz.
Responding to a fan on X who attributed his AEW absences to injuries, RUSH recently rejected the idea that he is injury-prone.
“During my time with AEW I have only been injured ONCE, and one time during Continental Classic I tweaked my knee and medical team advised I recover. I do my best to be part of every event, but any news you hear about injury prone is false. I even popped my elbow back in during a match to continue to perform.”
RUSH does, however, have an extensive injury history. He said in January 2024 that he had torn his hamstring against Mark Briscoe in his second match of the 2023 Continental Classic. He worked three more tournament matches with the injury, then competed at Worlds End.
A knee injury also sidelined RUSH in November 2025, ROH announced at the time. RUSH and Sammy Guevara were forced to vacate the ROH World Tag Team Championship as a result. The injury also ruled RUSH out of his ROH World Championship match against Bandido at Final Battle.
While waiting for his next opportunity, RUSH said he has continued training in Mexico.
“I train in Mexico at the gym and in ring, I study English daily, and study tapes, I do everything possible to be at my best and READY for any opportunity. Do not believe false narratives, EL TORO BLANCO is healthy and ready always, Monday to Monday. And REMEMBER…if you mess with the bull……”
No return date has been announced by AEW. RUSH said in early September that he hoped to be back on AEW programming within a few weeks.
