Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has just revealed that he plans to pursue a pro-wrestling career in the future.

The current wide receiver recently took part in the New Orleans Saints’ rookie minicamp in the NFL, following his time at Jacksonville State.

In a recent interview with Sharief Ishaq of WDSU-TV, Rechsteiner opened up about the strong influence of his cousin, current WWE wrestler Bron Breakker, on his decision.

“It all comes with the territory, and I always liked watching him growing up. I love going back watching his old promos, his old wrestling videos, everything like that. It really inspired me when he got inducted to the [WWE] Hall of Fame back in Dallas. I think it’s 2022. I want to pursue football as long as I can, but once I’m done, I’ll get into wrestling too.”

“I work out with him all the time back home. I go fish with him a lot because he moved back to Georgia. He really convinced me to, once I’m done playing football, get into the wrestling business.”

Despite his strong desire for the ring, the athlete made clear that his current focus remains on the sport he’s playing today.

“I didn’t know much about it coming into it, but now that I’ve been here, I really enjoy it. It’s just an amazing opportunity for me, and I really like it here for sure. I just enjoy having the ball in my hands, just making plays. Me and my brother were basketball players growing up, too. My brother plays basketball at Kansas State. So I just think just being a playmaker, really.

“We wrestled all the time. We have a wrestling room in our basement. Because he was a college wrestler at Michigan too. So we have a Michigan wrestling mat in our basement. We wrestled all the time. There was a lot of fights growing up between my brother and my dad.”

It’s worth remembering that Bron Breakker also played football for the Baltimore Ravens before signing with the Stamford-based company, going on to build a meteoric pro-wrestling career since his NXT days.

The expectation is that if Rechsteiner doesn’t stick in the NFL, he’ll begin his pro-wrestling training for good.
