Zelina Vega likely won’t be away from the ring for long after being released from WWE in the company’s most recent wave of cuts.

On Monday afternoon, May 11, the former WWE Women’s United States Champion began publicly sharing a booking email to seek new appearances and work outside the company, signaling that her next move in pro wrestling is already underway.

Vega was one of the names let go on April 24, just days after WrestleMania 42, on a list that also included her husband Aleister Black, Kairi Sane, Santos Escobar, Apollo Crews, and Motor City Machine Guns.

Shortly after her departure, Vega revealed during a Twitch stream that she received the call directly from TKO, not from WWE, something that caught her attention.

The wrestler later posted messages thanking fans, colleagues, and coaches, saying she felt honored by everything she experienced in the company.

It’s worth remembering that Vega originally signed with WWE in 2017, returned in 2021 after an earlier release, and in recent years was part of Legado del Fantasma and the LWO. In 2025, she became the second Women’s United States Champion in the title’s history by defeating Chelsea Green.

With the market open to her again, it remains to be seen whether Vega will head to the independent circuit, international promotions, or projects away from the ring — something she herself has already pointed to as a possibility.
