Sheamus put an end to speculation about his future, confirming on Friday that his run with WWE has come to an end after 20 years.

On his official X account, now going by “S. Farrelly,” the Irishman referenced his famous “Banger after Banger” catchphrase and posted a farewell message to his former WWE colleagues.

“Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Banger after Burger after Banger after Banger after Banger after
slán mo WWE chairde 👋🏻
S. Farrelly”

The post comes five days after Fightful Select reported that Sheamus had turned down a restructured extension and would be leaving WWE once his contract expired.

Shortly after, his name was moved to the Alumni section of the company’s website.

Backstage, a high-ranking figure reportedly pushed for Sheamus to stay with TKO, also highlighting his value outside the ring. That effort, however, didn’t change the course of the negotiations, which reportedly fell apart mainly over financial issues.

Sheamus hasn’t wrestled since the November 17, 2025 episode of Raw, when he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat Dominik Mysterio, Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh. The following month, he underwent shoulder surgery.

Signed in 2006, Sheamus leaves WWE with four world championships, along with Royal Rumble, Money in the Bank and King of the Ring wins to his name. The Intercontinental Championship was the only major title he was missing to become a Grand Slam Champion.

As of now, the Celtic Warrior hasn’t revealed where he’ll continue his career, though there are already rumors about a possible move to AEW.
