Add as a preferred source on Google Sol Ruca says Triple H made it clear that losing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship was not a reflection of her work.
Ruca dropped the title to Raquel Rodriguez on the July 27 RAW after Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez became involved. Perez tripped Ruca on the ropes while the referee was tied up with Morgan, allowing Rodriguez to hit the Tejana Bomb for the pin and capture her first main-roster singles title.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Ruca said Triple H approached her after the match and told her to stay the course as a babyface.
“Triple H came to me after the match and was like, ‘Hey, this isn’t because you’re doing anything wrong, but you just gotta be a babyface and keep going and see what the next thing is.’”
The loss ended Ruca’s first Women’s Intercontinental title reign after 57 days. She beat Becky Lynch at Clash in Italy on May 31, reversing a Man-handle Slam into the Sol Snatcher to capture her first main-roster championship.
Monday’s title change came three weeks after Ruca beat Rodriguez on the July 6 RAW. Morgan and Perez also tried to interfere that night, but IYO SKY wiped them out before Ruca hit the Sol Snatcher.
Triple H’s message leaves Ruca positioned as a babyface while she waits to see what WWE has next for her.
