The preliminary rundown for tonight’s WWE SmackDown (August 14), emanating from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, has surfaced just hours before airtime.
According to TRNBCKL, Chelsea Green is slotted for the opening segment. The current Interim WWE Women’s Champion suffered an orbital bone fracture last week, but WWE has no plans to strip the title and will continue featuring her on television while she’s unable to compete.
Baron Corbin will then put the United States Championship on the line against Carmelo Hayes. The match carries extra weight as it takes place in Hayes’ hometown of Boston. Hayes attacked Corbin backstage last week to earn his title opportunity.
Kevin Owens has the next featured segment. WWE officially announced a confrontation between Owens and CM Punk with their Undisputed WWE Championship match in Toronto now just one week away.
Up next on the rundown is the Triple Threat for the WWE Tag Team Championship featuring Damian Priest and R-Truth defending against War Raiders and MFT. Haku is also in Boston and is expected to appear on the show, though it’s not yet known when.
Tiffany Stratton will then defend the Women’s United States Championship against Jacy Jayne. Cody Rhodes is listed to close out the revealed segments, continuing his rivalry with Randy Orton.
