Baron Corbin is the new WWE United States Champion. He beat Trick Williams for the title on Night 2 of SummerSlam on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

It was Corbin’s first televised WWE match since August 30, 2024, when he teamed with Apollo Crews against Angel and Berto on SmackDown. He had already gotten back in the ring away from TV, working three non-televised Fatal 4-Way matches in late July and coming up short against Williams in all three.

Lil Yachty was a factor throughout, cracking Corbin with a kendo stick before going through a table at ringside when Williams accidentally caught him with a shot.

With the referee distracted, Corbin grabbed the United States Title and blasted Williams with it, then hit End of Days for the pin.

It’s Corbin’s second run with the U.S. Title. He won it for the first time in October 2017, beating AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger in a triple threat at Hell in a Cell, and dropped it 70 days later at Clash of Champions. Before Sunday, his most recent championship in WWE was the NXT Tag Team Title, which he won with Bron Breakker in February 2024.

Williams’ reign ends at 105 days. He took the title from Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42 and defended it against Zayn, Ricky Saints and Laredo Kid.
