WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker stepped back into his Deadman persona for one night. He made a surprise appearance at the game between the Savannah Bananas and the Texas Tailgaters on Friday, September 25, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
The appearance brought back several classic elements of the character. His entrance music played as smoke filled the stadium, and several druids appeared before The Undertaker emerged carrying his familiar urn.
Still, The Undertaker did not wear his complete old attire, appearing without the famous trench coat and hat. He had previously indicated that he did not plan to wear the full gear from his career again.
In the ninth inning, The Undertaker walked onto the field to deliver the closing Banana Ball and flashed his trademark throat-slash gesture for the cameras. His appearance was therefore not exactly a traditional ceremonial first pitch before the start of the game.
In the game itself, the Texas Tailgaters defeated the Savannah Bananas 2-1. The contest opened a three-game series between the teams at Globe Life Field, running from September 25 to 27, and all three games sold out.
The Undertaker, now 61, officially ended his in-ring career at Survivor Series 2020, exactly 30 years after his WWE debut.
