The feud between Nikki Bella and Paige took another turn on Friday’s WWE SmackDown in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Paige teamed with WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton in a six-woman tag team match against Fatal Influence, the stable made up of Women’s United States Champion Jacy Jayne and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.
Both teams had several stretches in control, and the closing moments were wide open. Paige hit Jayne with the Paige Turner and appeared to be closing in on the win, while Green and Stratton kept Henley and Reid at bay outside the ring.
Nikki Bella appeared at the decisive moment, however, and pulled Paige by the legs behind the referee’s back. The interference opened the door for Jayne to hit the Rolling Encore and win the match.
The result furthers the storyline between Nikki and Paige. Fatal Influence also beat Paige and the Bella Twins in a six-woman tag team match at SummerSlam. Immediately after that match, Nikki and Brie Bella attacked Paige, ending their alliance with her.
Nikki came out on top again on September 11, scoring a controversial win over Paige on SmackDown in Mexico City.
