Thekla is back in AEW. The former AEW Women’s World Champion made a surprise return during the All In London Buy-In at Wembley Stadium after more than a month away from television.
The Toxic Spider showed up while Renee Paquette, Jeff Jarrett, Paul Wight, and Mick Foley were breaking down the pay-per-view card on the pre-show panel. Drink in hand, Thekla hopped onto the commentary desk and made it clear she’ll be watching the AEW Women’s World Championship match between Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Moné very closely.
While the tone was playful, Thekla’s message was aimed squarely at Willow, signaling that their feud is far from over.
Thekla had been off television since Redemption, where Skye Blue attempted to interfere on her behalf during her AEW Women’s World Championship defense. Willow fought off the interference and caught Thekla with a backslide for the pin, ending the Austrian’s title reign.
The return had been in the works behind the scenes. Wrestling Noticias previously reported that Thekla was in London, though no details about her creative plans had surfaced at the time.
Tony Khan also teased the comeback during the All In press conference, telling fans to keep an eye out for Thekla’s return and saying it could come soon.
