TNA Announces Major Name for Lockdown

Avery Styles, the son of WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles, will make an appearance at TNA Lockdown this Sunday, August 23, at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

TNA confirmed the news on Saturday but only announced that Avery will be present at the event, without revealing whether he will compete in a match or appear in a segment.

The appearance carries extra weight given AJ Styles’ deep history with the promotion. The Phenomenal One spent over a decade in TNA and was one of the company’s biggest names during its early years.

Avery launched his pro wrestling career less than two months ago. He made his debut on June 26 against Ashton Martin for Squared Circle Action, with AJ Styles accompanying him at ringside.

Avery soon made his way to GCW, defeating Alexander Lev in his debut with the promotion on July 31. The following night in Minneapolis, he faced Marcus Mathers and suffered his first loss in the company.

Lockdown marks the return of one of TNA’s most storied events after a ten-year hiatus. Every match on the card will take place inside the Steel Cage, including The Hardys vs. The Nemeths for the TNA World Tag Team Championship and the return of the Lethal Lockdown Match.
