Triple H had an important message for Dragon Lee after Lee’s recent performance on WWE RAW in Mexico City.
Lee faced Chad Gable for the Intercontinental Championship on the September 14 episode of RAW and lost by submission. During the match, he delivered one of the night’s riskiest moments, diving through the ropes and cannonballing onto Gable on the announce table.
WWE posted a new vlog that includes backstage footage from just after the match. In the footage, Triple H congratulated Lee on his performance but asked him to save that kind of bump for special occasions because of the physical toll the move takes.
Triple H went on to make it very clear what he wants for Lee’s future with the company. He told Lee:
“I need you here long-term, not short-term.”

The remark came at a time of uncertainty surrounding Lee’s contract. According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lee’s WWE deal is nearing its end. His brother Dralistico, who is currently with AEW, also has a contract set to expire soon, and the two recently trademarked the name “Hermanos Lee.”
There has been no confirmation so far, however, that Lee has re-signed with WWE.
Even so, Lee continues to be featured prominently on RAW. He competed in the show’s main event on Monday, September 21, facing Dominik Mysterio and Penta in a Triple Threat Match with a spot in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match on the line. Penta picked up the win.
