Netflix is very pleased with the numbers for the September 14 episode of WWE RAW from Arena CDMX in Mexico City, especially given the stiff competition the show faced that night.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Netflix executives were very impressed with the show’s performance. The episode drew 3.1 million global views over its first seven days. WWE was reportedly extremely pleased as well.
That figure was up 500,000 from the September 7 episode, which drew 2.6 million. The Mexico City show also totaled 6 million hours viewed. It ranked sixth among English-language TV shows on Netflix worldwide and fourth in the United States. No episode of RAW had performed better since the post-WrestleMania 42 show on April 20.
Netflix was reportedly impressed by the 3.1 million viewers for the Sep. 14 RAW in Mexico City, especially given that Week 1 of Monday Night Football is traditionally a difficult spot for the show.

Netflix is eager to showcase bigger names and bigger matches on RAW more… pic.twitter.com/36swCA2yq2
The result was all the more notable because Monday Night Football made its return that same night. The game between the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs drew 23.2 million viewers, making it the most-watched Week 1 Monday Night Football game of the ESPN era, which began in 2006.
WrestleVotes reports that Netflix now wants WWE to feature big names and major matches on RAW more often, in hopes of capitalizing on the momentum from the Mexico City show. Roman Reigns vs. Penta for the World Heavyweight Championship headlined that episode.
The report does not identify any specific names Netflix is demanding, nor does it confirm an immediate change to the schedules of stars such as Reigns. Still, the match’s success has already had an effect behind the scenes. Several members of WWE’s creative team now believe a rematch between Reigns and Penta makes sense both creatively and from a business standpoint.
