Chris Jericho and Tommaso Ciampa produced one of the most violent moments of AEW Redemption this Sunday, July 26, at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

In a No Holds Barred match, both men used chairs, a fire extinguisher, a hockey stick, tack-covered pucks, sandpaper and a table wrapped in barbed wire. Jericho also brought back “The Painmaker,” the persona he reserves for some of the most extreme matches of his career.

The most shocking moment came when Jericho got hold of a drill and used it on Ciampa’s head. Referee Aubrey Edwards stayed close to the two men but had no way to stop it, since the no-disqualification stipulation left her powerless.

Jericho’s choice of weapon was no coincidence. In their first match, on the July 8 Beach Break episode of AEW Dynamite, Ciampa beat Jericho after throwing sand in his eyes and following up with a Bicycle Knee.

After that match ended, Ciampa pulled a drill from a bag, but referees and security stopped him from using it.
