Andrade El Idolo turned heads before his match even got underway at AEW Redemption, held Sunday, July 26, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

With the arena nearly dark and bathed in red light, Andrade emerged wearing a long black-and-red coat, flanked by two women. “HOW YOU KNOW?” flashed across the video screen as he made his way slowly toward the ring.

Once Andrade reached the top of the ramp, his two companions pulled off the coat to reveal a black T-shirt with the phrase rendered in the colors of the Mexican flag. Andrade then continued alone to face Mark Davis for the AEW National Championship.

The entrance wasn’t entirely new, though. The concept first appeared on the July 15 episode of Dynamite, when Andrade also came out flanked by two women before beating Jake Doyle to earn his title shot.

The phrase is part of Andrade’s new character direction. In a vignette AEW aired, Andrade said he was free of his past and destined to become a world champion. He closed the vignette with, “How you know? Soon, you will.”

Since then, fans have picked up “How You Know?” as a chant, and it has become one of the signature elements of his presentation.
