Add as a preferred source on Google Kenny Omega closed out AEW Redemption still holding the AEW World Championship, but he left Montreal at the center of a major heel turn.
In the main event at the Bell Centre, Omega defeated TNT Champion Kevin Knight. Knight came close to winning after using one of the title belts without the referee noticing, but he came up short. Omega then hit a V-Trigger and the One-Winged Angel to retain the title.
After the match, the Death Riders attacked Omega and the Young Bucks, even wrapping a steel chair around Omega’s neck. Will Ospreay showed up to stop the assault, tore apart the plastic bag Jon Moxley had produced to suffocate Omega, and attacked the rest of the group.
Ospreay then picked up the AEW World Championship, handed the belt to Omega, and accepted a handshake. As both men climbed onto the turnbuckles to celebrate, Omega pulled Ospreay in and hit a surprise One-Winged Angel on him.
Matt and Nick Jackson returned to the ring and posed next to the champion over Ospreay, closing out the pay-per-view.
The segment ended Ospreay’s brief run with the Death Riders, which began on July 1, and brought back The Elite.
The betrayal completely upends the previously friendly setup for AEW All In.
This will be the third singles match between the two. Omega won at Wrestle Kingdom 17, and Ospreay evened the series at Forbidden Door 2023. Now, the rubber match will be decisive.
