AEW World Champion Will Ospreay did not hold back when discussing WWE after Saturday’s All Out at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Ospreay defeated Jon Moxley in the main event to retain the AEW World Championship. The show was a sellout, with AEW having distributed more than 9,000 tickets in advance.
The sellout is all the more notable because WWE held Worlds Collide on the same day at the Allstate Arena, also in the Chicago area. According to Fightful Select, WWE’s decision to hold Worlds Collide without broadcasting it live was made specifically to cut into All Out’s sales. Sources within WWE acknowledged that AEW sold more tickets than expected.
Speaking at the post-show press conference, Ospreay said he took pride in seeing the arena full even though fans in the area had another option.
“I cannot tell you the pride I feel, because people did have a choice, and everyone that came to this show tonight, chose the right company because we deliver the best PPVs, the best pro-wrestling. Anytime anyone wants to come and step up to us, here’s the fcking reality for you, we’re gonna knock you down two fcking levels. We are the best pro-wrestling in the entire fcking world. Do not fcking step to us ever again.”
Worlds Collide was taped Saturday and will not be released on YouTube until 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 30.
