WWE has confirmed Axiom vs. The Miz for next week’s Friday Night SmackDown, which will take place in Spain.

The announcement came during a backstage segment on this week’s show, when Miz once again denied that he has been cursed by Danhausen, despite a recent string of problems.

During an interview with Cathy Kelley, Fraxiom showed up to mock the former WWE Champion. Miz then challenged Axiom to a match in Spain, with Axiom responding in Spanish before leaving.

Next week’s SmackDown is scheduled for May 29 at Olimpic Arena in the Barcelona area, with a local start time announced for 7:30 p.m. In the United States, the show will continue to air on USA Network at 8/7c.

The angle also continues Miz’s rough stretch on WWE programming. Last week, he lost to Trick Williams in Columbia after interference from Kit Wilson and Lil Yachty.

Axiom has already had a major moment in Barcelona. In March 2025, at the first SmackDown in the city’s history, he faced Gunther.
