Add as a preferred source on Google WWE has announced new attractions for tonight’s Friday Night SmackDown, which takes place at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
The main highlight is Tiffany Stratton, who will put the Women’s United States Championship on the line in an Open Challenge. The champion is coming off a successful title defense against Kiana James two weeks ago.
Rhea Ripley will also open the show to respond to Jade Cargill’s challenge. The expectation is that their WWE Women’s Championship rematch will be made official for Clash in Italy on May 31.
Cody Rhodes and Gunther will also continue building toward their Undisputed WWE Championship match. Last week, Gunther defeated Royce Keys before Rhodes attacked him at the end of SmackDown.
Another confirmed segment will see Carmelo Hayes send a message to Trick Williams and Lil Yachty after returning to SmackDown with a win over Ricky Saints.
In the only match announced so far, Shinsuke Nakamura will face Talla Tonga.
SmackDown will also serve as the final show before this Saturday’s Saturday Night’s Main Event.
