This Friday’s edition of WWE SmackDown has several major names advertised for the show, including Cody Rhodes, Gunther and Shinsuke Nakamura, live from Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
The show will be the blue brand’s final episode before this week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, while also continuing the build to Clash in Italy, the company’s next premium live event.
According to the announced lineup, Cody Rhodes and Gunther are scheduled for a segment on the show. The only match confirmed so far is Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Talla Tonga.
The rivalry between Rhodes and Gunther picked up in early May, when The Ring General attacked the Undisputed WWE Champion and made it clear he was coming after the title.

Last week, Gunther defeated Royce Keys in a No. 1 Contender’s Match, signed the contract, and officially joined SmackDown to challenge Rhodes on May 31.
As for Nakamura, his match against Talla Tonga comes after the Japanese star was attacked backstage by the MFT member. The bout keeps Solo Sikoa’s stable in the spotlight on the show.
Along with those featured names, Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton and Randy Orton are also listed among the advertised appearances for tonight.
Cody Rhodes vs. Gunther is already confirmed for WWE Clash In Italy, which will take place at Inalpi Arena in Turin as WWE’s first PLE in Italy.
