Add as a preferred source on Google WWE has added a new match to the next Friday Night SmackDown, which takes place Friday, May 22, at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
The show already has Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Drew McIntyre, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton and Randy Orton officially advertised.
Talla Tonga will face Shinsuke Nakamura, continuing the recent issues involving the Japanese star, Tama Tonga and MFT. On this week’s SmackDown, Nakamura once again tried to speak with Tama backstage, but ended up being attacked by Talla, who threw him onto a table.
The situation between Nakamura and MFT did not start now. Back in February, WWE had already put Nakamura face-to-face with Tama Tonga in a singles match on SmackDown, which Tama won with help from the group.
On the May 9 episode of SmackDown, Nakamura had also shown disappointment with Tama for staying aligned with Solo Sikoa’s group, before being confronted by Talla shortly afterward.
With that, next week’s match should serve as another chapter in the internal crisis involving Tama Tonga and MFT, especially at a time when Solo Sikoa is trying to reorganize the group following recent roster changes.
