MJF received some of the highest praise possible from Diamond Dallas Page amid his current run as AEW World Champion.

During a recent appearance on Wrestling Life Online, DDP discussed Maxwell Jacob Friedman’s development and highlighted not only his ability on the microphone, but also the way he tells stories in the ring.

“MJF is one of the most talented performers ever in our business, like ever. You got to take the command that he has on the microphone, and how he tells a story with the microphone and in the match. I was so proud to see, because I was there when Max came in. I did my first stuff with him, just trying to give him a rub that he really didn’t need cause he’s going to make his own rub.”

For those who may not know, DDP had a notable connection to MJF during the early years of AEW. In 2020, Page competed in a six-man tag team match alongside Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall against MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade.

MJF is currently in the middle of a dominant stretch in AEW. At Double or Nothing in May, he defeated Darby Allin in the main event to win the AEW World Championship for the third time in his career.

On the latest AEW Dynamite, MJF retained the title against Mark Briscoe and then reignited his rivalry with Kenny Omega. The match between the two was set for the special Beach Break edition of Dynamite, with the stipulation that Omega will never be able to challenge for the AEW World Championship again if he loses.
