WWE will go head-to-head with AEW again on September 26, when both companies hold major events in the Chicago, Illinois area.
According to WrestleVotes Radio, via Fightful Select, Worlds Collide’s 8 p.m. ET start time is intentional. WWE wants to compete directly with All Out, which is also set to begin at 8 p.m. ET that same day.
Worlds Collide will take place at Allstate Arena and feature wrestlers from WWE, NXT and AAA. WWE itself already lists the event for 8 p.m. ET, while AEW has confirmed All Out for the same time, streaming in the United States on HBO Max.
WWE has also been teasing a possible appearance from CM Punk on the show. Despite that, the company hasn’t announced the event’s top matches yet.
AEW, meanwhile, has already announced several matches for All Out. Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley, while FTR, The Young Bucks, Adam Copeland and Christian Cage will compete in a Ladder Match.
The competition also extends to ticket sales. As of September 7, Worlds Collide had already distributed more than 10,000 tickets, while All Out was close to selling out its setup at NOW Arena.
WWE made Worlds Collide official only ten days after All Out was confirmed for the same date in Chicago, making it clear the company was waiting on AEW before finalizing its own plans.
