Brie Bella wrestled through much of her WWE SummerSlam match with a serious right shoulder injury and revealed that producers came close to stopping the match.
The injury occurred on August 1, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during the six-woman tag team match pitting Brie Bella, Nikki Bella and Paige against Fatal Influence’s Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid.
Outside the ring, Reid sent Brie into the steel steps before Jayne followed up with more offense. Brie immediately began favoring her right shoulder.
In a new video on the Nikki and Brie YouTube channel, Brie revealed what actually happened:
“I don’t know if it’s because we’re people pleasers, but the whole time in my head I’m like, ‘No, I got to stay in so Nikki can get the hot tag.’ They were telling me, ‘Stay down.’ Or they were thinking about calling the match. I’m like, ‘No, no, no.’ Even though I was in crazy pain, all I could think about was, ‘Nikki’s got to hit that comeback.'”
Despite being in severe pain, Brie managed to tag Nikki, allowing her sister to finish the match. Fatal Influence won after Jacy Jayne pinned Paige.
Triple H later confirmed that Brie received medical attention at the stadium before being taken to the hospital for tests.
