WWE NXT kicks off on The CW. Kelani Jordan, Lola Vice, Kali Armstrong and Zaria are shown arriving at the arena earlier today.
At ringside, The Vanity Project will put the NXT Tag Team Championship on the line in the night’s opening match.
NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes w/ Jackson Drake and Myka Lockwood) (c) vs. Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux
– Baylor and Smokes lands a “Double Stomp + Reverse DDT” on Dux, followed by a pinfall.
Tavion Heights and Myles Borne talk backstage after patching things up last week. Heights believes The Vanity Project needs to be taught a lesson, proposing that once they beat the group’s leader tonight, the two set their sights on the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Kam Hendrix interrupts the conversation to mock the embrace between the former partners. Before walking off, Hendrix tells Borne he should be worried about the NXT North American Championship, since he plans to go after the title as soon as he’s recovered from his injury. Heights asks Borne to think over his proposal.
Bronco Nima and Lucien Price make it clear they want no part of Saquon Shugars’ war with DarkState. Shugars had approached OTM after watching a confrontation between Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy from a distance, but he doesn’t get the backing he was hoping for.
OTM then run into BirthRight, and Lexis King uses the moment to needle Price, claiming Nima has already found a new family in Los Perros del Mal — and that there’s no room in it for his partner.
In the ring, Tristan Angels shows up holding Shiloh Hill’s tooth. Angels says every story needs a hero, and that role belongs to the man who knocked his rival’s tooth out and proved the two of them aren’t on the same level. He sets the tooth down on the steel steps and stomps it flat.
The screen lights up before Angels can continue. Hill appears, laughing hysterically, and delivers a warning: “The fog is coming.” Shiloh repeats the phrase over and over as the segment comes to a close.
Meanwhile, Robert Stone tries to get a handle on the chaos in his office. Nattie, Nikkita Lyons, Karmen Petrovic, Layla Diggs, Izzi Dame, and Lizzy Rain press the general manager for a decision on the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Stone shuts down the discussion by announcing the situation will be settled in a Fatal 4-Way match.
Singles Match: Naraku vs. Tate Wilder
– Naraku lands a “The Abyss” on Wilder, followed by a pinfall.
Tony D’Angelo storms the ring and goes right after Naraku, who quickly retreats to the floor for cover. Security rushes in to hold D’Angelo back, but Naraku comes back and spits his Poison Mist. D’Angelo manages to get out of the way, and one of the security guards ends up taking the hit instead.
The NXT Champion charges at Naraku again, reigniting the brawl as officials scramble to pull the two apart.
Backstage, Hank Walker makes it clear to Tank Ledger and EK Prosper that he intends to get revenge on Keanu Carver. Saquon Shugars interrupts the conversation looking for allies to take on DarkState, but gets turned down again.
NXT Women’s North American Championship – Fatal 4-Way Match: Zaria (c) vs. Nikkita Lyons vs. Lizzy Rain vs. Izzi Dame
– Zaria lands a “F5” on Lyons, followed by a pinfall.
Saquon Shugars continues his search for allies against DarkState, this time turning to Wren Sinclair and Kendal Grey backstage. The WrenQCC members remind him that he made plenty of enemies during his time in NXT, so he can’t expect everyone to trust him right away. Sinclair, though, seems glad to see him trying to change and leaves the door open for him where the group is concerned. They won’t be able to join him in his war with DarkState, but they promise a big celebration if he manages to come out on top.
Lola Vice shows up to confront Kendal. “I’m getting my NXT Women’s Championship back,” Vice says. “Then you better win,” Grey fires back. “I will,” Lola assures her before walking away.
Later, Tony D’Angelo storms into Robert Stone’s office demanding another shot at Naraku. The General Manager explains that he’s trying to protect the champion from himself, but ends up booking a new NXT Championship match for next week anyway. D’Angelo accepts the match, but makes it clear that seven days is too long to wait. He wants his revenge now.
D’Angelo walks out of the office determined to track down Naraku. A worried Stone takes off after him.
Singles Match: Jackson Drake w/ NXT Tag Team Champions The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor & Ricky Smokes w/ Myka Lockwood) vs. Tavion Heights
– Drake counters a “Belly-to-Belly” from Heights into a roll-up, winning the match.
A new vignette for Reina Volcan airs. The wrestler announces she will make her in-ring debut on NXT next week. Volcan introduces herself as the first Dominican wrestler in WWE history before vowing to dominate the brand’s women’s division.
Saquon Shugars continues his search for allies in his war with DarkState. This time, he turns to Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar backstage. The Spaniard shows he’s ready to help, but Dar wants to play it safe. Shugars needles him, asking when the Scot has ever backed down from a fight. The jab lands, and Dar agrees to join forces with the former DarkState member.
Kali Armstrong crosses paths with Kendal Grey on her way to the ring and vows to take the NXT Women’s Championship. The champion points out she’s already beaten Armstrong before, making clear she isn’t intimidated. Armstrong moves on, but soon runs into Jaida Parker, who tells her to stay focused on tonight’s opponents. As soon as Armstrong walks away, Nattie, Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic blindside Parker with a combined attack.
