One of the scariest moments of this past episode of Friday Night SmackDown happened during the match between Damian Priest and R-Truth, due to the serious injury suffered by the former WWE United States Champion.
Something that drew attention, however, was the way Priest handled what happened, because, despite not stepping out of his heel character at any point, even getting into a big scuffle with Nathan Frazer and Axiom, who were protecting Truth, while he was down, the former member of The Judgment Day was visibly worried about the condition of his former partner, being the main person responsible for alerting the referee at the moment of the incident.
This stance from Priest, combined with his incredible performance, despite the seriousness of the moment, drew a lot of attention from WWE management. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Priest is being viewed very favorably behind the scenes at the company.
So far, there is no timetable for a return by Truth to the ring, although he spoke out after the injury, stating that he is fine, expecting to wrestle again very soon.
For Priest, the expectation is that he will continue working as a heel, possibly against Fraxiom, due to the interference of the duo at the moment Truth got injured last Friday.
