Zaria made history at Sunday’s WWE NXT Heatwave, held at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas. The Australian defeated Wren Sinclair and Kali Armstrong to unify the NXT Women’s North American Championship with the WWE Women’s Speed Championship.

The triple threat opened the premium live event under a Winner Takes All stipulation. Zaria entered as the Women’s North American Champion, Sinclair put the Women’s Speed Championship on the line, and Armstrong was the only competitor without a title.

In the closing stretch, Zaria fought off both opponents and dropped Armstrong with an F-5 to score the pinfall and walk away with both championships.

Armstrong had only been added to the match last Tuesday. The former WWE EVOLVE champion defeated Zaria in a non-title bout, countering an F-5 attempt into a roll-up to earn her spot in the triple threat.

Zaria captured the NXT Women’s North American Championship on June 9 by defeating Tatum Paxley. Sinclair had held the Women’s Speed Championship since March 17, when she dethroned Fallon Henley.

Despite speculation that the Speed division could be eliminated entirely, no similar change has been announced for the WWE Men’s Speed Championship.
