Danhausen is still without a confirmed tag team partner for WWE Backlash, set to take place this Saturday, May 9, in Tampa, Florida.
On this week’s Friday Night SmackDown, held in Jacksonville, the wrestler set up a makeshift booth backstage in an attempt to find someone willing to team with him against The Miz and Kit Wilson. The effort, however, came up empty.
Miz and Wilson showed up to taunt Danhausen, claiming nobody would agree to be his partner. Wilson once again called him “toxic” and, holding up a mirror, suggested that the only person who’d ever team with Danhausen was Danhausen himself.
WWE has officially confirmed that Danhausen must find a partner to face Miz and Wilson at Backlash, or the match will be canceled. The bout was booked by Nick Aldis after Miz pretended he would finally agree to mentor Danhausen, only to turn on him alongside Wilson on last week’s SmackDown.
As of now, the company has not revealed who the mystery partner will be. However, some rumors point to Jelly Roll as a possibility, mainly due to his recent involvement with Miz, Wilson, and Danhausen during the Road to WrestleMania 42.
The match is one of five announced for Backlash, alongside Roman Reigns vs. Jacob Fatu, Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker, Trick Williams vs. Sami Zayn, and IYO SKY vs. Asuka.
