Add as a preferred source on Google Rey Mysterio has been confirmed for the first week of AAA Verano de Escándalo, which airs live this Saturday, July 25, 2026, from Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Mexico.
Beyond his appearance, AAA has teased that its General Manager could make surprise announcements during the show. So far, though, the content of that segment hasn’t been revealed.
Mysterio has held the position since May 23, 2026, when he was introduced by AAA President Marisela Peña. Since then, the WWE Hall of Famer has taken on a major role in the company’s storylines, announcing matches and making decisions involving the top titles.
Rey recently declared the AAA Latin American Championship vacant following El Hijo del Vikingo’s injury and set up qualifiers to determine the participants in a Fatal 4-Way Match at Triplemanía 34. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. has already secured the first spot.
Verano de Escándalo will run in a special three-week format, with episodes on July 25, August 1 and August 8.
The first night starts at 10 p.m. ET, streaming on WWE’s YouTube channel.
Among the matches announced for the special are Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana defending the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship against La Hiedra and Laredo Kid, and Rey Fénix taking on Mini Vikingo for the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship.
Dominik Mysterio is also set to form an unexpected alliance with El Grande Americano to take on two members of Perros del Mal.
