Kenny Omega and Kevin Knight will headline tonight’s AEW Redemption at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec.

According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, the AEW World Championship match was chosen to close the first-ever edition of AEW’s new pay-per-view.

Omega will defend the title for the first time since starting his second reign. The Best Bout Machine beat MJF at Dynamite: Beach Break on July 8, 2026, in a match where a loss would have meant Omega could never challenge for the title again.

The original plan had Omega facing MJF at Redemption itself, but that match got moved up. MJF has been sidelined since, recovering from several injuries sustained over the course of 2026.

Knight will have the biggest match of his AEW career, despite already being the TNT Champion. He captured the title at Dynasty on April 13, 2026, in a gauntlet match.

The winner already knows what’s next. Will Ospreay won the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and has already secured his spot in the AEW World Championship match at All In, on August 30, 2026, at Wembley Stadium.
