AEW Sets Continental Challenge Cup Semifinals for Next Week’s Dynamite

AEW has announced the semifinal matchups for the Continental Challenge Cup, set for next week’s Dynamite from Glasgow, Scotland.

With the quarterfinals in the books, the company confirmed Nigel McGuinness vs. Kyle O’Reilly and Claudio Castagnoli vs. AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley as the Final Four matchups.

McGuinness punched his ticket to the semis with a win over Hechicero, while O’Reilly advanced by knocking off Orange Cassidy. On the other side of the bracket, Castagnoli got past Daniel Garcia and Moxley eliminated Jay White to move on.

The Castagnoli-Moxley semifinal adds an intriguing layer as a matchup between Death Riders stablemates with a long shared history in AEW. Moxley enters as the reigning champion, while Castagnoli is looking to fight his way into the tournament final.

McGuinness, meanwhile, continues to push forward in the tournament despite suffering an ankle injury during the competition. The veteran has said he plans to keep competing for a shot at the final, which is scheduled for AEW All In: London at Wembley Stadium.
