WWE Announces Big Matches, Segment for Next Week’s RAW

WWE has loaded up next week’s Monday Night RAW, set for August 24 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. The show features two semifinal matches in the World Heavyweight Championship tournament along with Stephanie Vaquer’s in-ring return.

Penta takes on La Parka and Dragon Lee faces Rey Fenix in the tournament semifinals. Penta and La Parka advanced with wins over Laredo Kid and Psycho Clown, respectively. Lee got past El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., while Fenix knocked off El Fiscal on this week’s RAW.

The semifinal winners will square off in the tournament final on August 31. The winner earns a shot at Roman Reigns and the World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14 RAW in Mexico City.

On the women’s side, Stephanie Vaquer will wrestle her first match since returning to WWE programming, taking on Roxanne Perez. The bout was confirmed after Vaquer clashed again with the Judgment Day during this Monday’s RAW opening segment, where she was attacked by Perez, Raquel Rodriguez, and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan.

Rounding out the announcements, Oba Femi and Bron Breakker will sign the contract for their Sunday Night’s Main Event match. WWE made the bout official after Paul Heyman stepped in to keep the two from brawling on RAW. The event takes place September 6 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta.

The August 24 RAW will also air on a special schedule, starting at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT, two hours earlier than usual.
