WWE has announced a major title match for next week’s Monday Night RAW. Raquel Rodriguez will put the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against Sol Ruca on the August 31 episode.
The announcement came during Monday’s RAW in Ottawa. In a backstage segment, Sol Ruca was talking with Jackie Redmond about her new opportunity when IYO SKY stopped by to show her support. Lyra Valkyria also appeared and offered to take Ruca’s place in the match, but Ruca made it clear that Valkyria would have to earn her own title shot.
This will mark the third time Rodriguez and Ruca have squared off for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship in under two months.
On July 6, Ruca defeated Rodriguez after IYO SKY took out Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez. The then-champion hit the Sol Snatcher and retained.

Ruca originally won the title on May 31 at Clash in Italy, defeating Becky Lynch.
Since then, Ruca has been building her momentum back up. On August 10, she and IYO SKY defeated Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, and last week she beat Lyra Valkyria.
The August 31 RAW will be taped in advance. WWE is taping both RAW and SmackDown on Friday, August 28, at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
