AEW intends to expand the presence of its wrestlers in Japan in the coming months. According to Fightful Select, the company already has other appearances planned, with the names involved expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
NJPW’s official schedule already features three names from AEW in the Super Jr. Tag League, which begins on Oct. 24. They are Nick Wayne, who will team with KUSHIDA, and The Swirl, made up of Blake Christian and Lee Johnson. The Japanese company’s calendar also includes the World Tag League between Nov. 23 and Dec. 13, with the participating teams still to be announced.
Power Struggle, set for Nov. 3, will have at least four names from AEW. Kenny Omega will face Yota Tsuji and Boltin Oleg in a three-way match that could guarantee him a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Will Ospreay will challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championship alongside Callum Newman, while Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta will face Shingo Takagi and Jeff Cobb.
The new plans also fit into NJPW’s build toward Wrestle Kingdom 21, which will take place on Jan. 4, 2027, at the Tokyo Dome. In addition to Omega, Ospreay and Moxley, MJF is already involved in a rivalry with Ryohei Oiwa in the Japanese programming.
Another name that could join this list is Adam Copeland. As previously reported, he intends to end his career in 2027 and still wants to wrestle at the Tokyo Dome.
