The WWE Hall of Famer addressed the topic on a recent episode of The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, naming Breakker as the next star who should reach the top of the company.
The comment lands at a curious moment. Breakker is the current World Tag Team Champion alongside Austin Theory, but he isn’t booked for SummerSlam.
Styles said on the podcast:
“How long are we going to wait for Bron Breakker to be Heavyweight Champion? He should be next. I think that he’s definitely a star right now. Why we haven’t put it on him to put the rocket up his butt and send him to the freaking moon? I don’t know why we haven’t done that because he is the destroyer. Yeah, well, he had to get a surgery done or he had a hernia or something. But the fact he was out and now he’s back and he’s even scarier than before. Like let’s go. Let’s freaking do this because we all know that it’s all about the chase. The babyface chasing the heel. Bron Breakker is the heel. Man, The Vision’s actually coming back together. They’re healing up and they’re coming back together. So, let’s see what we can do with those guys next. I’m not saying you got to split them up. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just saying, I’d like to see Bron as a Heavyweight Champion, but he’s not in a Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam.”
Styles’ remarks come just days after the third season of WWE: Unreal revealed a scrapped 2026 Royal Rumble plan. Jonathan Baeckstrom, WWE’s vice president of creative writing, had pitched the Breakker win. Triple H rejected the idea at the time, worried Breakker wasn’t ready yet and that fans would see it as a forced push.
Breakker’s push stalled in February, when he underwent hernia surgery. He returned at WrestleMania 42, attacked Rollins, and resumed the rivalry that had been planned before the injury.
Since then, Breakker has beaten Rollins at Backlash, lost the rematch in a steel cage match at Night of Champions, and recaptured the World Tag Team Championship with Theory.
