Add as a preferred source on Google Liv Morgan has passed the 100-day mark as WWE Women’s World Champion without defending the title on television.
In a video posted by CJ Perry on Instagram, Morgan responded to criticism over going so long without a title defense.
“My 100th day as champion. Zero days defending. Because I’m that iconic, you don’t need to defend sh*t.”
Morgan began her third reign as Women’s World Champion on April 18, when she defeated Stephanie Vaquer on the first night of WrestleMania 42.
She has defended the title twice at WWE live events, though neither match aired on television. Morgan retained in a fatal four-way match against IYO SKY, Sol Ruca, and Lyra Valkyria in Birmingham on June 21. Morgan then defeated SKY and Ruca in a triple threat match in Sheffield on June 24.
Morgan’s first televised title defense is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, on the first night of SummerSlam against IYO SKY.
SKY earned the title shot by defeating Morgan in the Queen of the Ring final at Night of Champions on June 27.
