Add as a preferred source on Google Jimmy Uso says watching Jey Uso and Sami Zayn break through as singles stars lit a fire under him for a world title run of his own. He just isn’t going to lobby WWE for it.
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, Jimmy said he’s happy in his role with the family, but made clear he wouldn’t waste a singles opportunity if one came his way.
“Man, of course it do… especially when you see your brothers doing it.”
“I’m not the type that’ll push up to the front of the line. I’m always ready to play my role or whatever I need to do for my family.”
“Big Jim would love to have a solo time. But… time is everything. If the powers that be let it happen, or if it gets organic, I’m right there with it.”
“When I see my brothers up, I’m up. So, a title don’t necessarily need to be around my waist for me to feel like I made it already… I’m blessed and very happy to be here.”
“If the opportunity presents itself, please believe I will grab that ball and I’m running with it, bro.”
Jey won the World Heavyweight Title in the WrestleMania 41 opener, tapping Gunther out with a sleeper. Sami won his first world title at Night of Champions on 6/27 in Riyadh, pinning Cody Rhodes in a triple threat that also included Gunther. That reign lasted nine days — CM Punk returned home to Chicago and beat him for the Undisputed WWE Title on the 7/6 Raw.
Jimmy has never held a singles title in WWE. All eight of his title reigns in the company came in the tag division alongside Jey. His last shot at singles gold was 7/12/2025 at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Solo Sikoa retained the United States Title with help from the MFTs.
At SummerSlam, Jimmy’s focus stays on family. He and Jey team with Jacob Fatu against Sikoa, LA Knight and Royce Keys on Night One, Saturday, August 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
