Vince Russo took another shot at Triple H, saying WWE is in the worst creative stretch in company history.
The former WWF and WCW writer — and one-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion — appeared on Talk Is Jericho on 7/29 to promote his new book, Total Nonstop Agony: The Rise and Fall of TNA. Most of the interview covered his TNA run, but Russo also got into WWE’s current creative direction under Triple H.
“This is the worst creative in the history of the WWE. This is worse than Stephanie [McMahon]… What Triple H can do is not pretty.”
Russo also called Triple H a “politician” and said he’d never sit down and hear out ideas, which Russo argued keeps the company from getting an outside read on how casual fans are actually watching the shows.
Triple H has run creative since July 2022, when he took over following Vince McMahon’s initial retirement. As Chief Content Officer, he also oversees Talent Relations, Live Events, Talent Development and Creative Services.
On the same day, Triple H said on Busted Open Radio that he wishes fans would aim their heat at the heels instead of the writers, though he added he loves the cheers and the boos alike.
