Add as a preferred source on Google Andrade El Ídolo has broken his silence after winning the AEW National Championship at Redemption.
AEW posted a backstage video of the new champion following the July 26 pay-per-view at the Bell Centre in Montreal. Andrade celebrated the result by talking about wrestling, his new title and Don Callis.
“I love wrestling, I love the business. Amo, I love la senoritas, las damas. And I love my new national title. And on Calis, don’t believe me? How you know?”
Andrade defeated Mark Davis to win the championship, giving him his first title in AEW.
The title win completed Andrade’s move away from the Don Callis Family. He defeated Jake Doyle on the July 15 episode of Dynamite to earn the shot at Davis, one of the champions aligned with Callis at the time.
Andrade had already stated that he was willing to fight every member of the group and take their championships while pursuing his larger goal of becoming AEW World Champion.
