TNA is expected to have a major surprise at Slammiversary this Sunday, June 28, live from Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the company is set to introduce a new name from WWE during the pay-per-view. The initial report stated that the talent was a former multi-time singles champion, with no further details on their identity.

In a new update, the outlet noted that the mystery wrestler is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion. As of now, their name has not been revealed, and their exact role on the show remains unknown.

The most important detail is that Johnson also reported that the talent is expected to wrestle at the event. That has fueled speculation that they could appear in Mustafa Ali’s Open Challenge for the TNA International Championship.

Slammiversary will feature every TNA title on the line, with Mike Santana defending the TNA World Championship against Nic Nemeth in the main event. The card also includes an Ultimate X Match for the X-Division Championship and a Ladder Match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.

In recent days, names such as Apollo Crews have been mentioned by fans and international outlets, mainly because he fits the description. However, there is still no confirmation that he is the name TNA has planned.
